Adjusting the opening angle

You can adjust the opening angle of the tailgate.

Before adjusting the opening angle, make sure there is at least 10 cm of free space above the tailgate. Otherwise, for example if the vehicle load has changed, the open tailgate may strike the garage ceiling.◄

For principles of iDrive operation, refer to.

1. Press the button.

The main menu opens.

2. Press the controller to open the menu.
3. Select “Settings” and press the controller.
4. Select “Vehicle / Tyres” and press the controller.
5. Move to the upper field. Turn the controller to select “Door locks” and press the controller.
6. Select “Luggage compartment lid opening” and press the controller.

7. Turn the controller. The setting is accepted, you can now move to another field.

Opening the tailgate

Before opening the tailgate, make sure no load (for example snow or ice) is resting on it, otherwise it may close unexpectedly.◄

The tailgate opens automatically when you press one of the following buttons:

► after unlocking the vehicle in advance – the button on the outside of the tailgate

► the button in the center console

► for 1 second – the button on theremote control

On some export versions, the tailgate can be opened with the remote control only after the vehicle has been unlocked.◄

To interrupt the opening process, press:

► the button on the outside of the tailgate
► press and hold the button for a short timeon the remote control
► press the button on the inside of the tailgate
► press the button in the center console once more

The opening process is interrupted when the vehicle starts moving.◄

Closing the tailgate

To avoid injury when closing the tailgate, make sure there are no obstacles in its path.◄

The tailgate will close by itself if you press the button on the inside of the tailgate
► press and hold the button for a short timeremote control

To interrupt the closing process:

► press the button on the inside of the tailgate
► release the buttonon the remote control
► press the button on the outside of the tailgate

If the vehicle has started moving, the closing process is not interrupted.◄

The tailgate closes automatically, without pressing any buttons, when a load of 5 kg or more (for example snow or ice) presses on it.◄

Manual opening and closing

In case of an electrical malfunction of the automatic tailgate operation:

1. Unlock the tailgate manually.
2. Slowly and smoothly open or close the tailgate.
