Automatic hazard warning lamp activation

~1min read

The automatic hazard warning lamp function improves safety by automatically signalling sudden heavy deceleration or accidents.

The automatic hazard warning lamp function is managed by the BSI.

The automatic hazard warning lamp function operates according to the following parameters:

  • sudden heavy deceleration,
  • impacts (triggering of a pyrotechnic element).

Speed and deceleration information (supplied by the ABS ECU), combined with brake pedal application, allows the BSI to command automatic hazard warning lamp activation when necessary. In the event of an impact, the airbag ECU informs the BSI, which also commands automatic hazard warning lamp activation.
