The light sensor provides information representing the exterior ambient brightness.

The light sensor also provides infrared light information for the air conditioning system.

The light sensor is located inside the passenger compartment, pressed against the windscreen. The system compensates for any tint in the windscreen.

Replacing the windscreen with one of the same reference does not affect the function of the system and does not change its characteristics.
