Driver information instrument cluster

Night driving mode

~1min read

Night driving mode lights only certain areas of the instrument cluster, in order to reduce driver eye strain.

Only the tachometer and the liquid crystal display remain lit at the level set by the rheostat pointer. Everything else on the instrument cluster, as well as the output supply, is dimmed to a fixed value.

Note: The instrument cluster warning lights are not affected by night driving mode.

Normal mode

Night driving mode is managed by the BSI and activated by the instrument cluster via the VAN Confort network. The instrument cluster and the output supply are switched simultaneously.

Note: During night driving mode, the rheostat adjustment function remains active.

A press on the rotary/push switch enters and exits night driving mode.

If a warning light comes on in the instrument cluster, the cluster exits night driving mode for the entire duration of the alert, and for a minimum of 5 seconds. The output supply remains dimmed.

Degraded mode

In the event of a network communication error, night driving mode is not activated.
