Side airbags

In the event of a severe side impact, the system protects the driver and front passenger, reducing the risk of injury to the torso between the hip and shoulder.

Each side airbag is built into the seatback frame on the door side.

Airbag deployment

Side airbags deploy individually in a severe side impact affecting all or part of the side impact zone B, perpendicular to the vehicle's longitudinal axis in the horizontal plane and in the outside-to-inside direction.

The side airbag inflates between the hip and shoulder of the front seat occupant and the door data plate.
