Deactivation / reactivation
In certain cases, for example to maintain cabin thermal comfort, it may be useful to deactivate Stop & Start.
The deactivation command can be given at any time after the ignition is switched on.
If the engine is in STOP mode, it restarts immediately.
The Stop & Start function is activated automatically each time the ignition is switched on.
Opening the engine compartment cover
Before any work under the engine cover, deactivate the Stop & Start function to avoid the risk of injury from automatic engine restart.
Driving through flooded roads Before driving into a flooded area, we strongly recommend deactivating the Stop & Start function. Detailed information and driving advice, especially for flooded roads, is given in the relevant section.
Press this button to deactivate the system.
Deactivation is confirmed by the button indicator lighting up and a message being displayed.
Press the button again to reactivate the function.
The button indicator goes off and a message is displayed.
