Misfuelling prevention (diesel)
In this manual: Practical information
~1min read
The vehicle is fitted with a mechanical device that prevents petrol from being put into the tank of a diesel-engined vehicle. It also protects the engine from damage that could result from such misfuelling.
It is located at the filler neck and is visible once the cap has been removed.
Operation

When a petrol fuel nozzle is inserted into a diesel tank, the nozzle rests against the flap. The system remains closed and prevents refuelling.
Do not attempt to refuel, and do not insert the diesel nozzle.
A can may be used to fill the tank. To ensure a smooth flow, bring the can spout close to the filler neck without pressing it directly against it, and pour slowly. Travelling abroad Diesel fuel pump nozzles may vary from country to country. The misfuelling prevention system may prevent the tank from being filled. Before travelling abroad, we recommend contacting a CITROËN network dealer to find out whether the vehicle is suitable for the fuel pumps in that country.Test yourself
