Removing the Joint from the Shaft. SPREAD THE SNAP RING AND REMOVE THE JOINT FROM THE SHAFT.

PROCEDURE.

1. Using side cutters, remove clamps 7 and 9 securing boot B. Discard the clamps..

2. Disconnect the boot from joint housing 2 and slide the boot along shaft 10,.

fully expose the joint..

3. Wipe excess grease from joint hub 4..

4. Spread snap ring 6 using a puller and remove the joint assembly from the shaft

6. Disassemble the joint and clean the parts before installing a new boot. Install or connect

Securing the Boot Clamp

PROCEDURE.

1. Small clamp 9 onto the boot neck

8. Do not allow the boot neck to form folds.

2. Install boot 8 onto shaft 10 and position it so that the small neck of the boot

is seated in the groove..

3. Tighten clamp 9 using tool DC

4. Place approximately half of the total joint grease quantity into boot 8..

Fill the joint with the remaining grease..

5. Install the joint onto shaft 10 and push it until it is secured by the snap ring

6. The snap ring must seat in the installation groove on the shaft

6. Cover joint housing 2 with the boot and place the boot neck in the groove on the

housing..

Warning.

Do not allow boot 8 to twist or form folds..

7. Install large clamp 7 onto the boot neck and secure the clamp using KM clamp.
