At Every Refueling
GENERAL INFORMATION.
Any leakage of operating fluids (except windshield washer fluid) indicates a serious malfunction in the vehicle systems and
units. Immediately correct the cause of any detected leaks.
Operating Fluids.
Engine Oil Level.
Check the engine oil level and top up as necessary. It is best to check the engine oil level with the engine warm.
After stopping the engine, wait a few minutes to allow the oil to drain into the oil pan. Then check the oil level using the dipstick. Wipe the dipstick clean and insert it fully into its tube. Then remove the dipstick again and
check the oil level. The oil level must be within the "Operating Range" zone. If necessary, add oil to the engine and bring the level
to the correct level. Do not overfill the engine with oil, as this may damage the engine.
After checking the oil level, reinstall the dipstick.
If the oil level is checked with a cold engine, do not start
the engine before checking the oil level. Otherwise the measurement will not
reflect the true oil level, since cold, thick oil drains into the pan rather slowly.
Coolant Level and Condition.
Check the coolant level in the coolant reservoir and top up as necessary.
If the coolant is contaminated or rusty in color, replace the coolant.
Windshield Washer Fluid Level.
Check the washer fluid level in the reservoir and top up as necessary.
