Brake System Inspection

Combine tire rotation with inspection of the brake system components. Inspect the brake lines and hoses, check the connections for proper operation and leaks, and check for cracks, abrasion, and other

damage. Check the disc brake pad wear and the

condition of the disc friction surfaces. Also check the drum brake shoe wear and check the linings for cracks. Also inspect other brake system parts and assemblies: the inner surface of the brake drums,

wheel cylinders, parking brake, etc. Check the parking brake adjustment. Inspect the brake system more often if the vehicle is

subjected to frequent braking.

Steering, Suspension, Boots, and

Drive Axle Seals Inspection

damage and wear, loose or missing parts, signs of wear, and lack of lubrication. Check the power steering lines and hoses for

secure connections and leaks, cracks, abrasion, and other damage. Clean and inspect the

condition of the drive axle boots and seals for tears and

lubricant leaks. Replace damaged boots and seals as necessary.

Exhaust System Inspection

Inspect the entire exhaust system, including the catalytic converter if equipped. Inspect the body areas

located near exhaust system components. Check the exhaust system for damage and wear, displaced or missing parts, weld integrity,

loose or leaking connections, and other faults that could cause the floor pan to overheat or allow

toxic exhaust gases to enter the passenger compartment or luggage compartment.

Throttle Linkage Inspection

Check the throttle linkage for free movement, binding, and damaged or missing parts.

and delamination. Replace worn belts and adjust the tension as necessary.

Checking throttle control linkage.

Lubricate all linkage and cable pivots, the throttle shaft support, the throttle valve return spring, and the accelerator pedal friction points with suitable lubricant. Check the throttle cable for free movement.
