Installing an ISOFIX child seat

~1min read

The outer rear seats of the vehicle are fitted with ISOFIX anchorages, a European standard that makes fitting a child seat quick, simple and safe.

The ISOFIX system allows ISOFIX child restraint systems to be fitted without using the vehicle's seat belts, by attaching the child seat directly to three anchorage points on the vehicle. Traditional and ISOFIX child seats can be fitted in a mixed configuration in different seating positions of the same vehicle.

To install an ISOFIX child seat, attach it to the two metal anchorages A fig. 71 located at the rear of the rear seat cushion, where it meets the backrest, then secure the top tether strap (supplied with the seat) to the dedicated anchorage B fig. 72 located behind the seat backrest, at the bottom.

For reference, fig. 73 shows an example of a Universal ISOFIX child seat covering weight group 1.

WARNING Fig. 73 is for installation reference only. Install the child seat strictly according to the instructions supplied with it.

WARNING After a significant road accident, it is recommended to replace both the child seat and the ISOFIX anchorages.
