Seat belt warnings
The driver must ensure (and so must all passengers) that all local regulations regarding the use of seat belts are observed. Always fasten your seat belt before starting a journey.
Seat belts must also be worn by pregnant women: both the mother and the unborn child are at considerably less risk in a collision if the seat belt is fastened. Pregnant women should position the lower part of the belt much lower, so that it passes under the abdomen and over the hips (as shown in fig. 49). As the pregnancy progresses, a pregnant driver should adjust the seat and steering wheel so as to maintain full control of the vehicle (pedals and steering wheel should remain easily accessible). However, keep as much distance as possible between the abdomen and the steering wheel.

The seat belt webbing must not be twisted. The upper part of the belt should pass over the shoulder and cross the chest diagonally. The lower part of the belt should lie across the hips (as shown in fig. 50), not across the passenger's abdomen.
Do not use objects (clips, fasteners, etc.) that prevent the seat belt from lying flat against the occupant's body.

Each seat belt must be used by one person only: do not carry a child on a passenger's lap while using a single belt to restrain both occupants (fig. 51). Each belt must restrain only the one passenger it is intended for, and no one else.
