DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

Trouble Code Description Fault Trigger Condition
PCM DTC P0505:00 Idle Speed Control System: no subtype information Set when the PCM detects that the desired idle speed cannot be achieved or cannot be controlled during KOER self-test. This DTC may be accompanied by other Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Diagnose other DTCs first. If no other DTCs are present, inspect the air intake system for air restrictions, vacuum leaks and damage. If no problems are found, clear the DTC and perform the KOER self-test.
PCM DTC P0506:00 Idle Speed Control System - Idle Speed Lower Than Expected: no subtype information Set when the PCM detects that the engine idle speed is lower than the desired value.
PCM DTC P0507:00 Idle Speed Control System - Idle Speed Higher Than Expected: no subtype information Set when the PCM detects that the engine idle speed is higher than the desired value.
PCM DTC P050A:00 Idle Speed Control System Performance at Cold Start: no subtype information Set when the PCM detects that the difference between the desired and actual engine speed exceeds a calibrated threshold. Disregard freeze frame data. Freeze frame data does not apply to the Cold Start Monitor. This DTC is for information only and may be accompanied by other Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Diagnose other DTCs first. If no other DTCs are present, inspect the air intake system for air restrictions, vacuum leaks and damage. If no problems are found, clear the DTCs and check that the engine coolant temperature is below 38 °C. Allow the vehicle to sit for 2 to 3 hours, if necessary, until the engine coolant temperature is below 38 °C. Start the engine without touching the accelerator pedal and allow the engine to idle for 6 minutes in Park. If no DTCs are present and the MIL does not illuminate after idling for 6 minutes, perform the KOER self-test to confirm no DTCs are present. The repair is complete.
PCM DTC P050B:00 Cold Start Spark Timing Performance "A": no subtype information Set when the PCM detects that the difference between the desired and actual ignition timing advance exceeds the calibrated threshold value. Disregard freeze frame data. Freeze frame data does not apply to the Cold Start Monitor. This DTC is informational and may be accompanied by other DTCs. Diagnose other DTCs first. If no other DTCs are present, inspect the intake air system for air restrictions, vacuum leaks and damage. If no problems are found, clear the DTCs and check that the engine coolant temperature is below 38 °C. Allow the vehicle to sit for 2 to 3 hours, if necessary, until the engine coolant temperature is below 38 °C. Start the engine without touching the accelerator pedal and let the engine idle for 6 minutes in Park. If no DTCs are present and the MIL does not illuminate after idling for 6 minutes, perform KOER, the self-test, to confirm that no DTCs are present and the repair is complete.
PCM P050E:00 Engine Exhaust Temperature at Cold Start Too Low: no subtype information Set when the PCM detects that the catalyst temperature coefficient exceeds the calibrated value and the MIL illuminates. The PCM calculates the actual catalyst light-off temperature during a cold start. The PCM then compares the actual catalyst temperature to the expected catalyst temperature model. The difference between the actual and expected temperatures is the ratio. This DTC sets when this ratio exceeds the calibrated value and the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates.
PCM P115E:00 Throttle Actuator Control Throttle Body Air Flow Adjustment at Maximum Limit: no subtype information Set when the PCM detects that the maximum allowable compensation has been reached and can no longer compensate for deposits. Install a new throttle body. Refer to the appropriate section 303-04 Fuel System - General Information.
PCM P1548:00 Engine Air Filter Restriction: no subtype information Set when the PCM detects that the airflow is outside the permissible range at various engine speeds and during WOT operation compared to the calibrated value. If this DTC sets, inspect the intake air system and replace the air filter if no restrictions are found. Refer to the appropriate section 303-12 Intake Air Distribution and Filtering for air filter replacement.
