DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

Trouble Code Description Fault Trigger Condition
PCM P007A:00 Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Circuit (Bank 1): no subtype information This DTC sets when the Charge Air Cooler Temperature (CACT) sensor value is not within the expected range.
PCM P007B:00 Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1): no subtype information Set when the PCM detects that the CAC temperature sensor value does not correlate with the IAT sensor value or the IAT2 sensor value at key-on after a calibrated soak period (typically 6 to 8 hours). If the IAT2 sensor is not present, the ECT sensor value or the CHT sensor value is used for the rationality test. This DTC also sets if the CAC temperature sensor value exceeds the maximum calibrated temperature threshold while driving. Check the temperature values when the engine is at ambient temperature, cold. If necessary, soak the engine for a minimum of 6 hours. Check airflow through the CAC and remove debris if necessary. This DTC may be accompanied by other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Check other DTCs and diagnose them first.
PCM P007C:00 Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Circuit Low Input (Bank 1): no subtype information Set when the PCM detects that the CAC temperature exceeds the calibrated value or a short to ground is detected in the CAC temperature circuit. This DTC may be accompanied by other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Check other DTCs and diagnose them first.
PCM P007D:00 Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Circuit High Input (Bank 1): no subtype information Set when the PCM detects that the CAC temperature is below the calibrated value or an open circuit or short to voltage is detected in the CAC temperature circuit. This DTC may be accompanied by other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Check other DTCs and diagnose them first.
PCM P0096:00 Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1): no subtype information Set when the PCM detects that the IAT2 sensor value does not correlate with the CAC temperature sensor value or the IAT sensor value at key-on after a calibrated soak period (typically 6 to 8 hours). This DTC also sets if the IAT2 sensor value exceeds the maximum calibrated temperature threshold while driving. Aftermarket heaters attached to the engine, transmission or battery may cause DTC P0096 to set in cold climates after a 6 hour soak. This DTC may be accompanied by other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Check other DTCs and diagnose them first.
PCM P0097:00 Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input (Bank 1): no subtype information Set when the PCM detects that the IAT2 sensor signal is below the self-test minimum. The IAT2 sensor minimum is 0.2 volts. Monitor the IAT2 PID. The typical IAT2 sensor temperature should be higher than the IAT sensor temperature.
PCM P0098:00 Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit High Input (Bank 1): no subtype information Set when the PCM detects that the IAT2 sensor signal exceeds the self-test maximum. The IAT2 sensor maximum voltage is 4.6 volts. Monitor the IAT2 PID. The typical IAT2 sensor temperature should be higher than the IAT sensor temperature.
PCM P00CE:00 Intake Air Temperature Measurement System - Multiple Sensor Correlation (Bank 1): no subtype information Set when the PCM determines the charge air cooler (CAC), IAT and IAT2 temperatures. Each PID differs from the others by more than 16.67°C (30°F) at engine start, or each sensor is outside the calibrated range at engine start after a soak period of at least 6 hours, when the heater unit is not used. Compare the readings of all sensors with the ambient temperature to determine which sensor shows the correct values. This DTC may be accompanied by other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Check other DTCs and diagnose them first.
PCM U066D:00 Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Communication Lost, Bank 1: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets when the PCM no longer receives a signal from the charge air cooler temperature (CACT) sensor.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

Trouble Code Description Fault Trigger Condition
PCM P2227:00 Barometric Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance: No Sub Type Information VEHICLES WITH 2.7L, 3.0L AND 3.5L GTDI ENGINES Set when the PCM detects one of the following conditions:
  • When the BARO PID does not correlate with the TCBP and MAP PIDs with key-on, engine off.
  • When the MAP and TCBP PIDs correlate with the engine running, but the TCBP PID does not correlate with the BARO PID at idle.
This DTC only operates at altitudes from 1000 feet below sea level to 15000 feet above sea level. Ignore it if it sets outside the operating range. FOR VEHICLES WITH NON-GTDI 2.7 L, 3 L AND 3.5 L ENGINES Set when the PCM detects that the barometric pressure (BARO) input does not correlate with the estimated barometric pressure calculated from the MAP or MAF sensor value. This DTC only operates at altitudes from 1000 feet below sea level to 15000 feet above sea level. Ignore it if it sets outside the operating range.
PCM P2228:00 Barometric Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Low Input: No Sub Type Information Set when the PCM detects an abnormally low BARO value, indicating a very high altitude above sea level. When the BARO signal is below the calibrated threshold for more than 100 ms, this indicates a fault. This DTC only operates at altitudes from 1000 feet below sea level to 15000 feet above sea level. Ignore it if it sets outside the operating range.
PCM P2229:00 Barometric Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit High Input: No Sub Type Information Set when the PCM detects an abnormally high barometric pressure (BARO) value, indicating an extremely low altitude above sea level. When the BARO signal exceeds the calibrated threshold for more than 100 ms, this indicates a fault. This DTC only operates at altitudes from 1000 feet below sea level to 15000 feet above sea level. Ignore it if it sets outside the operating range.
PCM P2230:00 Barometric Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Intermittent: No Sub Type Information Set when the PCM detects that the BARO readings periodically exceed the maximum value or periodically fall below the minimum value for a calibrated number of times. A BARO signal that is greater or less than the calibrated threshold for more than 100 ms indicates a fault. This DTC only operates at altitudes from 1000 feet below sea level to 15000 feet above sea level; it should be ignored if set outside the operating range.
