Alternative Frequencies
Many FM stations broadcast a Programme Identification (PI) code that audio devices can recognise.
If Alternative Frequency (AF) search is switched on in your device and you move out of range of a station, this function searches for a stronger signal from the same station, if one is available.
Under certain conditions, the Alternative Frequency (AF) search may briefly interrupt normal reception.
When this function is selected, the device continuously checks the signal strength. If it finds a better signal, it switches to that alternative signal. While the list of alternative frequencies is being checked, the radio mutes and, if necessary, searches the selected range for the original frequency.
Radio reception is restored once a station is found. If no station is found, the device returns to the originally stored frequency.
When this function is selected, "AF" appears in the display.
1. Press the MENU button.
2. Select AUDIO or AUDIO MENU.
3. Scroll to ALT FREQ or ALT FREQUENCY (AF) and switch it on or off using the OK button.
4. Press the MENU button to go back.
