Removal

  1. Remove the battery tray.
    Refer to: Battery Tray – 1.6 L EcoBoost (132 kW/180 L hp) – Sigma (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, Removal and Installation).
  2. Remove the air cleaner.
    Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12B Intake Air Distribution and Filtration – 1.6 L EcoBoost (132 kW/180 L hp) – Sigma, Removal and Installation).
    1. Disconnect the retainers and move the wiring harness aside.
    1. Remove the nuts and the battery tray support bracket from the transaxle support insulator.
    1. Disconnect the retainers.
    1. Slide and position the wiring harness aside.
    • Disconnect the shift cable ends from the shift lever ball studs.
    • Slide the retainer and remove the shift cables from the shift lever base.
    1. Position the shifter mechanism in the N position.
    1. Remove the shifter mechanism bolts.
  6. Remove the shifter mechanism.

Installation

  1. Lubricate and install the O-ring.
    Material: Motorcraft® Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid / XT-11-QDC (WSS-M2C200-D2)
    • Make sure the shift forks are in the N position.
    • Install the shift selector mechanism.
  3. Connect the electrical connector and install the bolts.
    Torque: 18 lb-ft (24 N·m)
  4. Refer to: Shift Cable Adjustment - 6-Speed Manual Transmission - B6 (308-06 External Manual Transmission Controls - 5-Speed Manual Transmission - B5/IB5/6-Speed Manual Transmission - B6, General Procedures).
    1. Slide and position the wiring harness.
    1. Install the clips.
    1. Install the battery tray support bracket and nuts.
    1. Install the wiring harness.
  6. Install the battery tray.

  7. Install the battery.
    Refer to: Battery (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, Removal and Installation).
  8. Install the air cleaner.
    Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12B Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 1.6 L EcoBoost (132 kW/180 L hp) - Sigma, Removal and Installation).
