WARNING

Make sure the external device is securely positioned in the vehicle and its connection cables do not obstruct any controls.

External devices can be connected via the AUX IN external device socket and the USB ports. See AUX IN external device socket (page 92). See USB port

Connecting

Connect the device and, if necessary, secure it so that it does not move around the vehicle.

Connecting an iPod

For optimum convenience and sound quality, we recommend purchasing a special single-connector cable available from your Dealer.

You can also connect an iPod using a standard iPod USB cable and a separate cable with a 3.5 mm audio jack plug. If you use this method, set the volume on the iPod to maximum and switch off any equalizer settings before connecting:

  • Connect the iPod's line-out socket to the AUX IN socket.
  • Connect the USB cable to the iPod and to the vehicle's USB port.
