Starting off

WARNING

Vehicles with an automatic transmission cannot be started by towing or pushing. See Jump starting the vehicle.

  1. Release the parking brake.
  2. Release the brake pedal and press the accelerator pedal.

Stopping

  1. Release the accelerator pedal and depress the brake pedal.
  2. Apply the parking brake.

Kickdown

Fully depress the accelerator pedal with the gear selector lever in the drive position to select the next lower gear for optimum performance.

Release the accelerator pedal when kickdown is no longer needed.
