Operating principles
Outside air
Keep the air intakes in front of the windscreen clear (of snow, leaves, etc.) to ensure efficient operation of the heating and air conditioning.
Air recirculation
CAUTION
Prolonged use of recirculation may cause the windows to mist up. If they do, select the settings for defrosting and demisting the windscreen.
Recirculation will circulate the air currently inside the passenger compartment. Outside air will not enter the vehicle.
Heating
Heating performance depends on the coolant temperature.
Air conditioning
Note: The air conditioning system only operates when the outside temperature is above 4°C.
Note: Using air conditioning increases fuel consumption.
Air is directed through the evaporator, where it is cooled. Moisture is removed from the air, which helps prevent the windows from misting up. Condensed water is discharged outside the vehicle, so a small puddle of water under a parked vehicle is normal.
General information on regulating the climate inside the vehicle
Make sure all windows are fully closed.
Heating the vehicle interior
Direct the airflow to the feet. In low outside temperatures or when the air is humid, direct some of the airflow to the windshield and side windows.
Cooling the vehicle interior
Direct the airflow to the face.
