Operating principles
WARNING
The parking aid system does not relieve the driver of the need to exercise caution when maneuvering.
NOTES
Vehicles fitted with a trailer module not approved by Ford may not detect obstacles correctly.
The sensors may not detect some objects in heavy rain or other conditions that cause signal reflections and interference.
The sensors may not detect objects with a surface that absorbs ultrasonic waves.
The parking aid system does not detect objects moving away from the vehicle. They will only be detected a moment after they start moving towards the vehicle again.
Take particular care when reversing if a towbar or rear-mounted accessories, such as a bicycle carrier, are fitted, as the rear parking aid will only show the distance from the bumper to the obstacle.
When washing the vehicle with a high-pressure water jet, spray the sensors only briefly and from a distance of no less than 20 cm.
Note: On vehicles fitted with a towbar, the parking aid switches off automatically when any trailer lights (or lamp boards) are connected to the 13-pin socket via a trailer module approved by Ford.
Note: Keep the sensors clean of dirt, ice and snow. Do not use sharp objects to clean them.
Note: The parking aid may give false signals if it detects a signal using the same frequency as the sensors, or when the vehicle is fully loaded.
Note: The outer sensors may detect the side walls of a garage. If the distance between the outer sensor and the side wall of the garage does not change for three seconds, the audible signal will switch off.
As you continue reversing, the inner sensors will detect objects behind the vehicle.
