SecuriLock®

The system helps prevent starting unless you use a coded key programmed for your vehicle. Using an incorrect key may prevent your vehicle from starting. A message may appear in the information display.

If you cannot start the vehicle with a coded key, it is not operating properly. A message may appear in the information display.

Automatic Arming

The system activates when you turn the ignition off.

Automatic Disarming

The system is deactivated when you turn the ignition on with a coded key.

Spare Keys

The intelligent access key works as a programmed key, controlling the driver door lock and enabling intelligent access with push button start, as well as the remote control.

If your programmed transmitters are lost or stolen and you do not have a spare coded key, you will need to have your vehicle towed to an authorized dealer. The key codes must be erased from your vehicle and new coded keys programmed.

Keep the spare intelligent access key in a safe place away from your vehicle. You can purchase spare keys or remote controls from an authorized dealer.

Programming a Spare Intelligent Access Key

You must have two previously programmed intelligent access keys inside your vehicle and a new unprogrammed intelligent access key readily available. You can purchase spare keys or remote controls from an authorized dealer.

Make sure the ignition is off before starting this procedure. Make sure you close all doors before starting and that they remain closed throughout the procedure. Complete all steps within 30 seconds of starting the sequence. Stop and wait at least one minute before starting again if you make any steps out of sequence.

Read and understand the entire procedure before you begin.

  4. Wait five seconds, then press the ignition button again.
  5. Remove the intelligent access key.
  6. Within 10 seconds, place the second programmed intelligent access key into the backup slot and press the ignition button.
  7. Wait five seconds, then press the ignition button again.
  8. Remove the intelligent access key.
  9. Wait five seconds, then place the unprogrammed intelligent access key in the backup slot and press the ignition button.

Programming is complete. Verify that the remote control functions work and that your vehicle starts with the new intelligent access key.

If programming fails, wait 10 seconds and repeat steps 1 through 7. If it still does not work, take your vehicle to an authorized dealer.
