Smart Unlock for Intelligent Access Keys
This feature helps prevent locking your intelligent access key inside the vehicle passenger compartment or rear cargo area.
When you lock your vehicle using the electronic locking system with any door open, the transmission is in Park (P) and the ignition is off, the system searches for the intelligent access key inside your vehicle after you close the last door. If the system finds the key, all doors will immediately unlock and the horn will sound twice, indicating that the key is inside.
You can override the Smart Unlock feature and intentionally lock the intelligent access key inside your vehicle.
To do so, lock the vehicle after you have closed all the doors:
- using the keypad with Intelligent Access.
- Press the lock button on another intelligent access key.
- Touch the lock area on the front of the door handle with another intelligent access key in your hand.
When you open one of the front doors and lock the vehicle using the power door lock control, all doors will lock and then unlock if:
- The ignition is on.
- The ignition is off and the transmission is not in Park (P).
