On-Board Diagnostics Data Link Connector

Your vehicle has an On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) Data Link Connector (DLC), which is used in conjunction with a diagnostic scan tool for vehicle diagnosis, repair and reprogramming services. Installing a secondary device that uses the DLC during normal driving for purposes such as remote insurance company monitoring, transmitting vehicle data to other devices or third parties, or modifying vehicle operation may cause interference or even damage to vehicle systems. We do not recommend or endorse the use of aftermarket plug-in devices unless they are approved by Ford. Vehicle warranty does not cover damage caused by an aftermarket plug-in device.
