Catalytic Converter
In this manual: Fuel and refuelling
~1min read
To ensure compliance with current regulations on exhaust emissions and their maximum limits, the vehicle is fitted with a catalytic converter, a device that reduces the polluting emissions generated by the engine by converting the exhaust gases into less harmful substances. The catalytic converter is an integral part of the vehicle's exhaust system.
DANGER
Vehicles fitted with a catalytic converter must not be started in enclosed areas, as the gases emitted are harmful to health.Do not park or idle the vehicle on dry leaves, dry grass or other combustible material. After the engine is switched off and during use, the exhaust system will continue to radiate considerable heat. This presents a potential fire risk.
Any leaks in the exhaust system may allow harmful and potentially lethal fumes to enter the passenger compartment. If you smell exhaust gases inside the vehicle, contact an authorised dealer immediately for an inspection. If you detect exhaust fumes, do not drive the vehicle.Driving with a Catalytic Converter
