WARNINGS
- EXTREME DANGER! Never install a rear-facing child safety seat on a seat protected by an active frontal airbag. This could result in serious injury or death to the child.
- Do not modify the front of the vehicle in any way. This could affect airbag deployment. Failure to follow this warning could result in serious personal injury or death.
- Fasten your seat belt and maintain sufficient distance between yourself and the steering wheel. To hold the body in a position that allows the airbag to provide optimum protection, the seat belt must be used correctly. See Sitting in the Correct Position (page 122). Failure to follow this warning could result in serious personal injury or death.
- Repairs to the steering wheel, steering column, seats, airbags and seat belts must be performed by an authorized dealer. Failure to follow this warning could result in serious personal injury or death.
- Keep the area in front of the airbags free of obstructions. Do not attach anything to or over the airbag covers. In a crash, hard objects can cause serious personal injury or death.
- Take care not to pierce the seat with sharp objects. This could damage the seat and affect airbag deployment. Failure to follow this warning could result in serious personal injury or death.
- Use covers designed for seats equipped with side airbags.
Note: airbag deployment produces a loud noise and a cloud of harmless powdery residue. This is normal.
Note: to clean the airbag covers, use a damp cloth only.
