Battery - North America
Original equipment battery is maintenance free. Do not remove the cap or add fluid.
See the replacement number shown on the original battery label when a new battery is needed. See Engine Compartment Overview for battery location.
For battery replacement, see your dealer.
The vehicle has an Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) 12-volt battery. Installing a standard 12-volt battery will reduce the service life of the 12-volt battery.
When charging a 12-volt AGM battery, use a battery charger with an AGM setting if available. If available, use the AGM setting on the charger to limit the charging voltage to 14.8 volts. Follow the charger manufacturer's instructions.
Stop/Start System
The vehicle is equipped with a Stop/Start system that turns off the engine to help save fuel. See Starting the Engine.
See California Proposition 65 Warning and the back cover.
Vehicle Storage
Infrequent use: Disconnect the black negative (-) battery cable to keep the battery from discharging.
Extended storage: Disconnect the black negative (-) battery cable or use a battery trickle charger.
