To open the hood:

- Pull the hood release lever with this symbol on it. It is on the lower left side of the instrument panel, between the door and the steering wheel.

- Go to the front of the vehicle to find the secondary hood release handle. The handle is under the front edge of the hood, closer to the center. Push the handle to the right and lift the hood.

- Release the hood prop rod from its clip, located above the radiator. Securely place the hood prop rod into the slot on the underside of the hood.
To close the hood:
- Before closing the hood, make sure all fill caps are installed correctly.
- Lift the hood to relieve pressure on the hood prop rod. Remove the hood prop rod from the slot on the underside of the hood and return the prop rod to its clip. The prop rod must snap into place when returned to its clip to prevent hood damage.
Lower the hood to about 30 cm (12 in) above the vehicle and release it so that it latches fully. 4. Make sure the hood is closed. If not, repeat Steps 1–3 in "To Open the Hood," then continue to repeat Steps 1–4 in this section.
