- To avoid injury and other damage, read and follow all instructions on the fuel pump island.
- Turn off the engine when refueling.
- Keep sparks, flames and smoking materials away from fuel.
- Do not leave the fuel pump unattended.
- Avoid using electronic devices while refueling.
- Do not re-enter the vehicle while pumping fuel.
- Keep children away from the fuel pump and never allow children to pump fuel.
- Fuel may spray out if the fuel nozzle is inserted too quickly. This spray may occur if the tank is almost full, and more likely in hot weather. Insert the fuel nozzle slowly and wait for any hissing sound to stop before fuel begins to flow.

To open the fuel fill door, press and release the rear center edge of the door.
This vehicle has a fuel tank without a cap system and has no fuel cap. The fuel nozzle must be fully inserted and locked in place before starting fuel flow.
- Vehicle operation problems, including engine stalling and damage to the fuel system.
- Fuel spills.
- Possible fuel fire.
Be careful not to spill fuel. Wait a few seconds after you finish refueling before removing the nozzle. Clean fuel from painted surfaces as soon as possible. See Exterior Care.
Refueling the Tank with a Portable Gas Can
If the vehicle runs out of fuel and you need to refuel from a portable gas can:

- Locate the capless funnel adapter stored under the spare tire.
- Insert and secure the funnel into the capless fuel system.
- Remove and clean the funnel adapter, then return it to the storage location.
