Coverage

Services are provided for the duration of the powertrain warranty.

In the U.S., any driver of the vehicle is covered. In Canada, a person operating the vehicle without the owner's permission is not covered.

Roadside Assistance is not part of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. General Motors of North America and GMC reserve the right to change or discontinue the Roadside Assistance Program at any time without notice.

General Motors of North America and GMC reserve the right to limit services or payment to an owner or driver if they determine that claims are made too frequently or the same type of claim is made repeatedly.

Services Provided

  • Emergency Fuel Delivery: Delivery of enough fuel for the vehicle to reach the nearest service station.
  • Lockout Service: Service to unlock the vehicle if you are locked out. Remote unlock may be available if you have OnStar. For security reasons, the driver must present proof of identity before this service is provided.
  • Emergency Towing from a Public Road or Highway: Towing to the nearest GMC dealer for warranty service, or if the vehicle was in a crash and cannot be driven. Assistance is not provided when the vehicle is stuck in sand, mud, or snow.
  • Flat Tire Change: Service to replace a flat tire with the spare tire. The spare tire, if equipped, must be in good condition and properly inflated. It is the owner's responsibility to repair or replace the tire if it is not covered by warranty.
  • Battery Jump Start: Service to start a vehicle with a dead battery.
  • Trip Interruption and Assistance Benefits: If your trip is interrupted due to a covered event, reasonable unexpected expenses may be reimbursed during the powertrain warranty period. Eligible items are reasonable and customary hotel, meals, rental car, or vehicle return to the customer, up to 500 miles.

Services Not Included in Roadside Assistance

  • Towing from impoundment caused by violation of any law
  • Legal fines
  • Installation, removal, or replacement of winter tires, chains, or other traction devices

Service is not provided if the vehicle is in an area not accessible to a service vehicle, or is not regularly traveled or maintained by a public road consisting of ice and winter roads. Off-road use is not covered.

Services for Vehicles Purchased in Canada

Fuel Delivery: Reimbursement up to 7 L. Diesel fuel delivery may be limited. Propane and other fuel types are not provided through this service.

Lockout Service: Vehicle registration required.

Trip Interruption and Assistance Benefits: Must be more than 150 km from the point where your trip began to qualify. Pre-authorization, original detailed receipts, and copies of repair orders are required. After authorization is received, the Roadside Assistance Advisor will help arrange and explain how to receive payment.

Alternate Service: If service cannot be provided immediately, the Customer Service Advisor may authorize local roadside assistance service. You will be reimbursed up to $100 U.S. after submitting the original receipt to roadside assistance. Mechanical breakdowns may be covered; however, any costs for parts and labor not covered by warranty are the owner's responsibility.
