Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Description and Operation

~1min read

Description

  • The transmission fluid temperature sensor monitors the automatic transmission fluid temperature and sends the readings to the TCM.
  • This is an NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) sensor whose resistance is inversely proportional to the temperature level.
  • The data from this sensor is used to identify the damper clutch engagement and release zones within the low and high temperature ranges, and to compensate hydraulic pressure levels during gear shifting.
