1. Using the special service tool (cylinder head bolt wrench 09221-32001), loosen the cylinder head bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

2. Using the special service tools (Valve Spring Compressor 0922228000 and Adapter 09222-28100), remove the valve cotters from the valve spring retainer. Then remove the valve spring retainer, valve spring, valve spring seat and valve.

Keep the parts for each valve separately as a set to avoid mixing them up during installation.
