~3min read

Ventilation

1. Select the face levelmode.

2. Set the air intake control to the fresh air mode.

3. Set the temperature control to the desired position.

4. Set the fan speed control to the desired speed.

Heating

1. Select the floor levelmode.

2. Set the air intake control to the fresh air mode.

3. Set the temperature control to the desired position.

4. Set the fan speed control to the desired speed.

5. If desired, turn on the air conditioning with the temperature control set to heat to dehumidify the air before it enters the cabin.

If the windshield fogs up, select the front defrostmode or press the front defrost button.mode.

  • To protect against dust or unpleasant odors entering the vehicle through the ventilation system, temporarily set the air intake control to the recirculation mode. Be sure to return the control to the fresh air position once the irritation has passed to maintain fresh air in the vehicle. This will help keep the driver alert and comfortable.
  • To prevent fogging of the windshield, set the air intake control to the fresh air mode and the fan speed to the desired position, turn on the air conditioning system, and adjust the temperature control to the desired temperature.

Air Conditioning

HYUNDAI air conditioning systems are charged with R-1234yf refrigerant.

1. Start the vehicle.

2. Press the air conditioner button.

3. Select the face level.mode.

4. Set the air intake control to the Recirculation mode to temporarily allow the cabin to cool down quickly. Once the desired cabin temperature is reached, return the air intake control to the Fresh mode.

5. Adjust the blower speed and temperature control to maintain maximum comfort.

Information

Your vehicle is charged with R-1234yf according to your Country of Sale at the time of manufacture. You can determine which air conditioning refrigerant is used in your vehicle from the label located in the engine compartment.

NOTICE

  • The refrigerant system must be serviced only by trained and certified technicians to ensure proper and safe operation.
  • The cooling system must be serviced in a well-ventilated area.
  • The air conditioning evaporator (cooling coil) must never be repaired or replaced with one removed from a used or salvaged vehicle. New MAC evaporator replacements must be certified (and labeled) as meeting SAE J2842 standard.

Information

  • When using the air conditioning system, carefully monitor the temperature gauge during driving uphill or in heavy traffic when outside temperatures are high. Operating the air conditioning system may cause the engine to overheat. Continue to use the blower fan but turn the air conditioning system off if the temperature gauge indicates engine overheating.
  • When opening windows in wet weather, the air conditioning may create water droplets inside the vehicle. Excessive water droplets may cause damage to electrical equipment. The air conditioning should be used only with the windows closed.
  • If the vehicle has been parked in direct sunlight in hot weather, open the windows briefly to allow hot air to escape from the vehicle.
  • After sufficient cooling is achieved, switch back from the recirculation mode to the fresh mode.
  • To reduce humidity inside the windows on rainy or humid days, reduce humidity inside the vehicle using the air conditioning system with the windows and sunroof closed.
  • During air conditioning system operation, you may occasionally notice a slight change in engine speed as the air conditioning compressor cycles. This is normal system operating characteristic.
  • Run the air conditioning system for a few minutes every month to ensure maximum system performance.
  • When using the air conditioning system, you may notice clear water dripping (or even a puddle) on the ground under the passenger side of the vehicle. This is a normal system operating characteristic.
  • If you operate the air conditioning excessively, the difference between the outside air temperature and that of the windshield may cause the outer surface of the windshield to fog up, resulting in loss of visibility. In this case, set the mode selection button to theposition and set the fan speed control knob to the lowest speed setting.
