Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) System

This feature helps prevent a rear seat passenger from being left behind.

If your vehicle is equipped with navigation, refer to the separately supplied infotainment system manual.

NOTICE

When the driver turns off the engine and opens the driver's door after opening and closing a rear door, the warning message "Check Rear Seats" will appear.

WARNING

The rear occupant alert provides a reminder to the driver to check the rear seats, but it does not determine whether there is an object or passenger on the rear seat. Always check the rear seats when leaving the vehicle.

CAUTION

The door opening and closing history is initialized when the driver turns off the engine and locks the vehicle doors. Even though the rear door is not opened again, the alert may sound if there is a previous record. For example, if the driver does not lock the vehicle doors and opens a door to exit after the alert sounds, the alert may activate.
