Rear Wheel Hub

REAR WHEEL HUB - COMPONENTS
REMOVAL
1. On vehicles with ABS, remove the rear wheel speed sensor.
Be careful when removing the wheel speed sensor from the bracket so as not to damage the sensor pole piece on the sensor rotor teeth or other parts.
2. Remove the disc brake caliper and suspend it aside using wire.
3. Remove the brake disc.
4. Remove the hub cap, remove the wheel hub bearing nut, and remove the lock washer.

5. Remove the wheel hub assembly.
The rear wheel hub bearing assembly is not serviceable.
(For vehicles with ABS) Be careful not to scratch or damage the wheel speed sensor rotor teeth. Do not drop the rotor. If chips form on the rotor teeth, the rotor will deform, and the wheel speed cannot be detected correctly, which will cause the ABS system to malfunction.
INSPECTION 1. Inspect the oil seal for cracks or damage.
2. Inspect the wheel hub bearing for wear or damage.
3. Inspect the wheel speed sensor rotor teeth for chips.
4. Inspect the rear axle carrier for cracks.
INSTALLATION

1. After tightening the flange nut, stake the edge of the nut into the groove of the rear axle shaft.
Replace the flange nut with a new one after removal.

2. For vehicles with ABS, install the rear wheel speed sensor:
Insert a feeler gauge between the pole piece of the wheel speed sensor and the sensor rotor tooth. Secure the sensor so that the clearance between the sensor pole piece and the rotor tooth (around the entire circumference) is within the specified value.
Standard value:
Clearance: 0.2 - 1.3 mm 3. Install the wheel hub cap.
