Ventilated Seat Module Description and Operation

Description

Compared with the existing heated seat function that uses heating wires, the ventilated seat function heats, cools and dehumidifies using the TED. It draws in cabin air through a fan installed on the bottom of the seat cushion and supplies the air to the seat cushion and seatback through the air ducts. It heats or cools the air supplied from the TED installed at the end of the air duct. It directs the slightly heated or cooled air across the entire seat surface through the air channels installed in the seat cushion and seatback.

1) The TED is a semiconductor chip used for the heat exchange system using electricity. 2) It is a next-generation cooling system that can replace the compressor cooling system.

It can generate heating and cooling simultaneously by switching electrical polarity, and maintain a constant temperature by cooling and heating the object within the range of -30°C to +150 °C.
