BAD CELL - REPLACE
Charge and retest the battery.
If the Micro 570 recommends "REPLACE BATTERY", replace the battery and retest the charging system.
[Battery Charging and Retest Method] Battery Charging: Set the battery charger to "Automatic Mode" (a mode in which the charging current decreases as the battery charges) and charge the battery until the charging current is close to zero or the charger alarms to indicate charging is complete. (Recommended minimum charging time: more than 3 hours in automatic mode)
A.
If the battery is not fully charged, the surface voltage of the battery will be high while the cold cranking amps (CCA) of the battery is low. If you test the battery in this condition, the tester may incorrectly evaluate that battery sulfation has occurred, because the amount of current in the battery is too low compared to the battery voltage. * Surface voltage: when the battery is charged, the electrolyte temperature rises and the chemical reaction becomes active, resulting in an excessive increase in battery voltage. It is known that it takes approximately one day for this elevated surface voltage to fully dissipate.
Battery Test After Charging: Do not test the battery immediately after charging. Test the battery after the surface charge has dissipated, as specified in the following procedure.
After charging the battery is complete, install the battery in the vehicle.
Turn the IG key to the ON position, turn on the low beam headlights, and wait 5 minutes. (Discharge for 5 minutes)
Turn off the headlights and the IG key and wait 5 minutes. (Wait 5 minutes after turning off the IG key)
Disconnect the + and - cables from the battery, and then test the battery.
When submitting a battery claim, attach a printout of the battery test results.
