  • Tires and wheels other than the recommended sizes may cause abnormal steering and poor handling, which may result in a serious accident.

Tire Wear

  1. Measure the tire tread depth.

Tread depth [limit]: 1.6 mm (0.0630 in.)

  2. If the remaining tread depth (A) is less than the limit, replace the tire.
When the tire tread depth is less than 1.6 mm (0.063 in), the wear indicators (B) will appear.

Removal

  1. Remove the valve core and deflate the tire.
  2. Using a tire changer, remove the tire bead from the side of the wheel.
    • The tire bead should be broken approximately 90° from the valve side of the wheel. The bead breaker should not be set too deep.
    • Avoid contact between the tire/tool and the valve when dismounting.
    • Dismounting should end near the valve.
  3. Rotate the wheel clockwise.

Installation

  1. Apply soap or tire lubricant to the upper and lower tire beads.
  2. To install the bead, set the valve at the 5 o'clock position relative to the head on the tire changer.
  3. Place the tire on the rim so that the lower bead contacts the rim edge after the valve (6 o'clock position). Rotate the rim clockwise and press the tire at the 3 o'clock position so that it fits into the bottom bead.
  4. After the lower bead is on the tire, rotate the rim until the valve is at the 5 o'clock position relative to the tire changer head. Press the tire at the 3 o'clock position and rotate the rim clockwise to fit the upper bead.
  5. Inflate the tire until both beads are fully seated. Tire pressure: 18 in: Front 230 kPa (33 psi), 19 in: Front 230 kPa (33 psi), Rear 240 kPa (35 psi)
