Parking brake and brake fluid warning light

This light comes on if the ignition is ON and turns off after about 3 seconds if the parking brake is not applied.

Parking brake warning light

This light comes on if the parking brake is applied with the ignition switch in START or ON. The light should turn off when the parking brake is released.

Brake fluid low level warning light

If the light remains on, it may indicate that the brake fluid level is low.

If the light remains on:

1. Drive carefully to the first safe place and stop the vehicle.

2. With the engine off, check the brake fluid immediately and add fluid as necessary. Then inspect all brake components for fluid leaks.

3. Do not drive the vehicle if leaks are detected, if the warning light remains on, or if the brakes do not function properly.

It is recommended that you contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

The vehicle is equipped with a diagonally split dual brake system. This means that the brakes remain active on two wheels even if one brake circuit fails. With only one of the two circuits working, a harder and longer press of the brake pedal is required to stop the vehicle. Furthermore, the vehicle does not stop in the same distance with only part of the brake system working. If the brakes fail while driving, downshift to obtain more engine braking and stop the vehicle as quickly and safely as possible.

To check the operation of the bulb, make sure the parking brake and brake fluid warning light comes on when the ignition switch is in the ON position.

WARNING Driving the vehicle with a warning light on is dangerous. If the brake warning light remains on, it is recommended that the system be checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
