Driving Your Vehicle

Night Driving

~1min read

Driving at night is more dangerous than during the day. Keep these important tips in mind:

  • Reduce your speed and keep a greater distance between you and other vehicles, as visibility decreases at night, especially where there is no street lighting.
  • Adjust the mirrors to reduce glare from the headlights of other vehicles.
  • Make sure your headlights are clean and properly adjusted. Dirty or poorly adjusted lights greatly reduce visibility at night.
  • Do not look directly at the headlights of oncoming vehicles. You may be temporarily blinded, and it may take several seconds for your eyes to readjust to the darkness.
