Filter Replacement

You can clean the filter by checking the air filter element.

Clean the filter with compressed air.

1. Loosen the clips on the air cleaner cover, then open the cover.

2. Wipe the inside of the air filter.

3. Replace the filter.

4. Secure the cover with the clips.

To replace the filter, follow the maintenance schedule.

If you drive the vehicle in very dusty or sandy areas, replace this element at shorter intervals than normally recommended. (See "Maintenance under severe driving conditions" in this chapter.)

NOTICE

  • Do not drive with the air filter removed, as this may cause excessive engine wear.
  • When removing the air filter, make sure dust or dirt does not enter the air intake, as this may cause damage.
  • We recommend using replacement parts supplied by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. Using unsuitable parts may risk damage to the mass air flow sensor, turbocharger, or engine.
