Draining Water from the Fuel Filter

The fuel filter for diesel engines plays an important role in separating water from fuel and collecting water at the bottom.

If water accumulates in the fuel filter, the warning light illuminates when the ignition switch is in the ON position.

If the warning light stays on, we recommend having the vehicle's system serviced by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

NOTICE

If the accumulated water in the fuel filter is not drained in time, vital components such as the fuel system may be damaged by water passing through the fuel filter.
