Head Restraint
The front and rear seats of the vehicle have adjustable head restraints. Head restraints provide occupant comfort and, most importantly, are designed to protect occupants from whiplash and other neck and spine injuries during a crash, especially in a rear-end collision.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury or death in an accident, observe the following precautions when adjusting head restraints:
- Always properly adjust the head restraints for all occupants BEFORE driving the vehicle.
- NEVER allow anyone to ride in a seat with the head restraint removed.
-
Adjust the head restraints so that the center of the head restraint is at the same height as the top of the eyes. - NEVER adjust the head restraint while the driver's seat is occupied and the vehicle is moving.
- Adjust the head restraint as close to the occupant's head as possible. Do not use a seat cushion that holds the body away from the seatback.
- Make sure the head restraint locks in position after adjusting it.
NOTICE
To avoid damage, NEVER strike or pull on the head restraints.
CAUTION
When there are no occupants in the rear seats, adjust the rear head restraint to its lowest position. A rear seat head restraint may reduce visibility of the rear area.
