Cruise Control
Cruise Control Operation

1. Cruise indicator
2. Set indicator
The cruise control system allows you to drive at speeds above 20 mph (30 km/h) without depressing the accelerator pedal.
WARNING
Observe the following precautions:
- Always set the vehicle speed below the speed limit.
- If the cruise control remains on (the cruise control (
) indicator light on the instrument cluster is illuminated), cruise control may be activated unintentionally. Keep the cruise control system off (the cruise control (
) indicator light is not illuminated) when cruise control is not in use to avoid accidentally setting the speed. - Use the cruise control system only when driving on open highways in good weather.
- Do not use Cruise Control when it may be unsafe to drive at a constant speed:
- In heavy traffic or when road conditions make it difficult to keep a constant speed
- On wet, icy, or snow-covered roads
- On hilly or windy roads
- In windy areas
- When visibility is limited (for example, due to fog, snow, rain, or sandstorms)
Information
- During normal operation of cruise control, when the SET switch is activated or when resuming after braking, cruise control will engage after approximately 3 seconds. This delay is normal.
- Before cruise control can be activated, the system checks to make sure the brake switch is operating normally. Depress the brake pedal at least once after turning the ignition ON or starting the engine.
Setting the Cruise Control Speed

1. Press the CRUISE button on the steering wheel to turn on the system. The Cruise (
) indicator will illuminate.
2. Accelerate to the desired speed, which must be above 30 km/h.

3. Press the switch down (SET-) and release it. The SET indicator will illuminate.
4. Release the accelerator pedal.
Information
On a steep grade, the vehicle may slow down or speed up slightly when driving uphill or downhill.
To Increase the Cruise Control Speed

- Push the switch up (RES+) and release it immediately. The cruise speed will increase by 1.0 mph (1.6 km/h) each time the switch is operated in this way.
- Press the switch up (RES+) and hold it while monitoring the set speed on the instrument cluster. Release the switch when the desired speed is displayed, and the vehicle will accelerate to that speed.
- Depress the accelerator pedal. When the vehicle reaches the desired speed, push the switch down (SET-).
To Decrease the Cruise Control Speed

- Press the switch down (SET-) and release it immediately. The cruise speed will decrease by 1.0 mph (1.6 km/h) each time the switch is pressed this way.
- Press the switch down (SET-) and hold it. Your vehicle will gradually decelerate. Release the switch at the speed you want to maintain.
- Lightly press the brake pedal. When the vehicle reaches the desired speed, press the switch down (SET-).
To Temporarily Accelerate with Cruise Control Engaged
Depress the accelerator pedal. When you release the accelerator pedal, the vehicle will return to the previously set speed.
If you push the switch down (SET-) at a higher speed, cruise control will maintain the higher speed.
Cruise control is canceled when:

- The brake pedal is pressed.
- The CANCEL button on the steering wheel is pressed.
- Press the CRUISE button. Both the "
" indicator and the "SET" indicator will turn off. - Shift the shift lever to the N (Neutral) position.
- The vehicle speed decreases below approximately 30 km/h.
- ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is operating.
- Shift to 2nd gear manually.
Information
Each of the above actions cancels Cruise Control operation (the SET indicator in the instrument cluster will turn off), but only pressing the CRUISE button turns the system off. To resume Cruise Control operation, press the switch up (RES+) on the steering wheel. You will return to your preset speed, unless the system was turned off using the CRUISE button.
To Resume the Preset Cruise Control Speed

Push the switch up (RES+). If the vehicle speed is above 30 km/h, the vehicle will resume the set speed.
To Turn Off Cruise Control

- Press the CRUISE button (the Cruise (
) indicator will turn off). - Turn the ignition OFF.
