Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) System

The Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) system uses radar sensors in the rear bumper to monitor and warn the driver of approaching vehicles in the driver's blind spot zone.
The system monitors the rear of the vehicle and provides the driver with warnings by an audible signal and an indicator on the outside rearview mirrors.
(1) Blind-Spot Collision-Warning (BCW) The detection range of the Blind-Spot Collision-Warning (BCW) depends on vehicle speed. Note that if your vehicle travels much faster than the vehicles around you, the warning will not be displayed.
(2) BCW: High Speed Closing The BCW High Speed Closing function helps warn you when a vehicle is approaching in the adjacent lane at high speed. If the driver turns on the turn signal when the system detects an approaching vehicle, the system sounds an audible warning. The warning timing depends on the speed difference between your vehicle and the approaching vehicle.
(3) RCCW (Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Warning) The RCCW function monitors approaching cross traffic from the left and right sides of the vehicle when your vehicle is in reverse. The function operates when the vehicle is moving in reverse below approximately 6 mph (10 km/h). When cross traffic is detected, a warning sound is produced.
The warning timing depends on the speed difference between your vehicle and the approaching vehicle.
WARNING
- Always watch the road conditions while driving and be prepared for unexpected situations, even when the Blind-Spot Collision-Warning (BCW) system is operating.
- The Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) system does not replace proper and safe driving. Always drive safely and use caution when changing lanes or backing up the vehicle. The Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) system may not detect every object near the vehicle.
