Parking Distance Warning (Reverse) System
In this manual: Convenient Features of Your Vehicle
~1min read

The Parking Distance Warning (Reverse) system assists the driver when reversing the vehicle by sounding an audible warning if an object is detected within approximately 50 inches (120 cm) behind the vehicle.
This system is a supplementary system that detects objects within its detection range and sensor locations. It cannot detect objects in areas where sensors are not installed.
WARNING
- ALWAYS inspect your vehicle to make sure there are no objects or obstacles before moving in any direction to prevent a collision.
- Always pay special attention when the vehicle is moving near objects, especially pedestrians, and especially children.
- Be aware that some objects may not be displayed on the screen or detected by the sensors due to the distance, size, or material of the objects, all of which may limit sensor effectiveness.
Operation of the Parking Distance Warning (Reverse) System
Operating Condition
- This system is activated when reversing. However, if the vehicle speed exceeds 3 mph (5 km/h), the system may not detect objects.
- If the vehicle speed exceeds 10 km/h, the system will not warn you even when objects are detected.
- When more than two objects are detected at the same time, the nearest objects will be recognized first.
Types of Warning Sound and Indicator

NOTICE
- The indicator may differ from the illustration because of the position of objects or sensors. If the indicator flashes, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
- If the audible warning does not sound or the buzzer sounds intermittently when shifting into R (Reverse), this may indicate a malfunction of the Parking Distance Warning (Reverse) system. If this occurs, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer as soon as possible.
