Air cleaner
Filter Replacement

The air cleaner filter element can be cleaned for inspection with compressed air.
Do not attempt to wash or rinse it, as water may damage the filter.
If the air cleaner filter is contaminated, it must be replaced.
Replace the filter in accordance with the Maintenance Schedule.

1. Lower the air filter housing cover (1).

2. Lower the lever (2) fully to the UNLOCK position.

3. Replace the air filter element.
4. Install the air cleaner cover in place by reversing the removal procedure.
5. Make sure the cover is installed securely.
Information
If the vehicle is operated in extremely dusty or sandy areas, replace the air filter more often than the normal recommended intervals (see "Severe Duty Maintenance Conditions" in this chapter).
NOTICE
- Do not drive the vehicle with the air cleaner filter removed. This will cause excessive engine wear.
- When removing the air cleaner filter, be careful that dust or dirt does not enter the air intake, or damage may occur.
- Use only genuine HYUNDAI parts. Use of non-genuine parts may damage the air flow sensor.
