Owner Maintenance
WARNING
Performing maintenance on the vehicle can be dangerous. If you lack the knowledge, experience, or proper tools and equipment to perform the work, have it done by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
ALWAYS observe these precautions when performing maintenance work:
- Park the vehicle on level ground, move the shift lever to P (Park), and place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
- Block the wheels (front and rear) to prevent the vehicle from moving. Remove loose clothing or jewelry that could become caught in moving parts.
- If you must run the engine during service, do so outdoors or in an area with plenty of ventilation.
- Keep flames, sparks, or smoking materials away from the battery and fuel-related parts.
The following lists are vehicle inspections and checks that should be performed by the owner or an authorized HYUNDAI dealer at the intervals shown to help ensure the safe, reliable operation of your vehicle.
Any abnormal conditions should be brought to the attention of your dealer as soon as possible.
These owner maintenance inspections are generally not covered by warranty, and you may be charged for labor, parts, and lubricants.
Owner Maintenance Schedule
When you stop for fuel:
- Check the engine oil level.
- Check the engine coolant level in the engine coolant reservoir.
- Check the windshield washer fluid level.

WARNING
Be careful when checking the engine coolant level while the engine is hot. Coolant may spray out of the reservoir and cause serious burns and other injuries.
While operating the vehicle:
- Pay attention to any change in exhaust sound or any smell of exhaust gas inside the vehicle.
- Check for steering wheel vibration. Check for excessive steering wheel effort or looseness in the steering, or a change in straight-ahead position.

- Check whether the wheel mounting nuts are loose.
At least twice a year: (i.e., every spring and fall)

- Check the windshield washer nozzles and wiper operation. Clean the wiper blades with a clean cloth dampened with washer fluid.
