Scheduled Maintenance

Follow the normal maintenance schedule if the vehicle is normally operated under none of the following conditions. If any of the following conditions apply, you must follow the maintenance under severe conditions schedule.

• Frequent short trips of less than 5 miles (8 km) in normal temperatures, or less than 10 miles (16 km) in freezing temperatures
• Extended engine idling or low-speed driving for long distances
• Driving on rough, dusty, muddy, unpaved, gravel, or salt-treated roads
• Driving in areas using salt or other corrosive materials, or in very cold weather
• Driving in severely dusty conditions
• Driving in heavy stop-and-go traffic
• Driving on steep hills, downhill grades, or mountain roads
• Towing a trailer, using a camper, or using a roof rack
• Driving as a police vehicle, taxi, for other commercial use, or towing a vehicle
• Driving at speeds over 106 mph (170 km/h)
• Frequent driving in stop-and-go conditions
