Repair Procedures

Removal and Installation

Air Cleaner Assembly
  1. Remove the engine cover. (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Cover")
  2. Remove the air duct (A).

  3. Disconnect the positive battery terminal.
  4. Disconnect the breather hose (A).
  5. Disconnect the vacuum brake hose (B).
  6. Disconnect the air intake hose (C).
  7. Remove the air cleaner assembly (D). Tightening torque: Hose clamp: 2.9–4.9 N·m Air cleaner assembly installation: 7.8–9.8 N·m

  8. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  9. Open the air cleaner element cover (A) by lifting up the air cleaner. Cover handle.

  10. Unlock the air cleaner element camshaft (A) by turning it in the direction of the arrow.

  11. Replace the air cleaner element (A) with a new one.

    • Grasp the handle and pull out the air cleaner element.
  12. Lock the air cleaner element camshaft, then close the air cleaner element cover.
