Heating and Air Conditioning
1. Start the engine.
2. Set the mode to the desired position. For maximum heating or cooling efficiency, select the mode according to the following:
- Heating:
- Cooling:
3. Set the temperature control to the desired position.
4. Set the intake control to the Fresh air position or the Recirculation position.
5. Set the fan speed control to the desired speed.
6. If air conditioning is required, turn the air conditioning system on.
Mode Selection

The mode selection button controls the direction of airflow through the ventilation system. Air can be directed to the floor, the instrument panel vents, or the windshield. Five symbols are used to represent face, bi-level, floor, floor-defrost, and defrost.
Face Level (B, D)

Airflow is directed to the upper body and face. In addition, each outlet can be adjusted to direct the air flowing out of the outlet.
Bi-Level (B, C, D, E)

Airflow is directed to the face and floor.
Floor Level (A, C, D, E)

Most of the airflow is directed to the floor, with a small amount of air directed to the windshield and side window defrosters.
Floor and Defrost (A, C, D)

Most of the airflow is directed to the floor and windshield, with a small amount directed to the side window defrosters.

MAX A/C Level (B, D)
MAX A/C mode is used to cool the interior of the vehicle faster. Airflow is directed up toward the upper body and face.
In this mode, the A/C button and the recirculation button are selected automatically. Turn the fan speed to adjust.
After the interior has cooled sufficiently, turn the temperature knob away from the MAX A/C setting and adjust the knob to the desired position.
If you want to continue using A/C, make sure the A/C button indicator light is on.
Instrument Panel Vents

The instrument panel vents can be directed up/down or left/right using the vent adjustment lever.
The vent outlets can be opened or closed individually using the vent control lever. If you move the vent control lever to the left end, the vent outlets can be closed.
Temperature Control (2)
The temperature will increase by turning the knob to the right.
The temperature will decrease by turning the knob to the left.
Air Intake Control
The intake control button is used to select Fresh air mode (outside air) or Recirculation mode (cabin air).
Recirculation Mode

When Recirculation mode is selected, air from the passenger compartment will be recirculated through the system and heated or cooled according to the selected function.
Fresh Mode

When Fresh air mode is selected, air is drawn into the vehicle from outside and heated or cooled according to the selected function.
Information
Operate the system primarily in Fresh air mode. Use Recirculation mode only temporarily when necessary.
Operating the heater in Recirculation mode for an extended period without the A/C on may cause the windshield to fog.
In addition, prolonged use of the A/C in Recirculation mode may result in excessively dry air in the cabin and may contribute to a musty odor due to stagnant air.
WARNING
- Continued use of the climate control system in Recirculation mode for a long period of time may cause drowsiness in the vehicle occupants. This may result in loss of vehicle control, which may lead to an accident.
- Continued use of the climate control system in Recirculation mode with the A/C off may increase humidity inside the cabin. This may cause condensation to form on the windshield and reduce visibility.
- Do not sleep in or remain parked in your vehicle with the windows up and either the heater or air conditioning running for extended periods of time. Doing so may increase the level of carbon dioxide in the cabin, which can result in serious injury or death.
Fan Speed Control (1)
Turn the knob clockwise to increase the blower speed and airflow. Turn the knob counterclockwise to decrease the blower speed and airflow.
Setting the blower speed control knob to the "0" position turns the blower off.
NOTICE
Operating the blower speed control when the ignition switch is in the ON position may cause the battery to discharge. Operate the blower speed control when the engine is running.
Air Conditioner (3)
Press the A/C button to turn on the system. The indicator light will illuminate. Press it again to turn off the system.
Rear Climate Control Button

When the rear climate control button is pressed, rear passengers can operate the rear climate control system.
